6-vet independent small animal practice with great support and nursing team in fantastic location. Full-time but job share or part-time considered.
We are an IFSM and RCVS accredited practice and nurse training centre, our nurses being
trained by our own ‘home-grown’ qualified nurses. Our nursing team provide good
support for both our inpatients and surgical cases as well as through their clinics (post op checks, puppy/kitten clinics, nail clips, anal glands and
weight clinics). We are lucky to have
good referral support as well as visiting surgical specialists.
The practice is
based in Sudbury, a lovely market town surrounded by beautiful countryside and
villages but only 45mins from Stansted and 1 hour from Cambridge by car and
1hr 20mins from London by train. The water meadows across the road provide for
great dog walking or a run at lunchtime and SUP/canoeing on days off and summer
evenings. Our branch surgery is in Great
Yeldham, about 25mins away.
We are looking for an enthusiastic vet with good communication skills to join and work as part of our friendly team at our Sudbury branch -/+ the Yeldham branch, depending on experience
and confidence (we like to support our less experienced vets so they wouldn’t
work at a branch in sole charge –not good for their development or the
clients). We have a loyal client base and case continuity is encouraged to grow your own ‘following’. Experience preferred but full support will be given to a less experienced colleague to develop and grow. Particular interests, such as imaging or orthopaedic surgery, are welcomed or can be developed but the role would also suit an aspiring all round general practitioner interested in developing their skills and their relationship with our clients and their pets.
-15 minute consults. -Usual kit that you would expect such as dental xray. -One set operating day a week, but the opportunity to operate
on other days too. -1 day off a week -1 in 5 on-call rota, with local out of hours provider covering emergencies after 9pm weekdays and from 5pm Saturdays, with a two hour Sunday morning clinic. -5 weeks holiday -RCVS and VDS memberships funded -Fully funded CPD and allocated time -Competitive salary, based on experience -Full time position but would consider job share/part time.
